Published by the Housing Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme. This Guide is designed to help you with enquiries from clients about either home improvements or building problems. In the case of home improvements, measures to improve energy efficiency are often cheaper if they are installed when other building work is carried out. Where there are building problems there is often an opportunity to use energy efficient solutions in order to provide the added benefit of reducing the client’s fuel bills and improving comfort.

Because energy requires very long-term investment it looks ahead to 2050. It sets out the challenges the UK faces on the environment, the decline of its indigenous energy supplies and the need to update its energy infrastructure and the policies needed to meet these challenges.

Published by the Office of the Deputy Prime minister in 2003. It is an action plan to build successful, thriving and inclusive communities where people want to live. This regional plan sets out proposals for implementing the national plan of action in the North East. It does not attempt to cover all the issues of importance to communities. It highlights actions to address housing, planning and neighbourhood renewal issues.

North East Biomass Mapping Exercise

The objective of the regional biomass mapping exercise has been to understand the current activity, knowledge and interest in the use of biomass for energy production. The report presents the results which will then form a baseline from which a strategy for the emerging biomass industry can be developed and progress measured.

It includes a new section on implementing the standard in the context of the investment plans. It also provides the detailed description of the amended thermal comfort criterion.
